Capital Improvements Campaign
Newark National Little League started a Capital Improvements Campaign in the beginning of our 2015 season to raise funds for facilities and infrastructure improvements at both the Clark and Gallagher Complex.
Future Planned Improvements
As a league we are looking to make the following improvements to our complexes. This will help to provide a quality experience for our players and tournaments.
- T-Ball field: Diamond-tex added and laser grading
- Lights on the Challenger/Upper Minor Field
Improvements To Date
To date we have been able to make the following improvements which have helped to save games, make game play safer, and help make our complexes a place where all leagues want to come and play.
- New lights were install on the Lower Minor Field. These had to be updated due to safety issues. These new lights will also significantly reduce our electrical cost.
- Lower Minor Field was stripped, laser graded, new sod, diamond-tex added and laser graded.
- Senior Field was stripped, laser graded, new sod, diamond-tex added and laser graded. Plus new clay batter's box and mound.
- Slugger Field was stripped, laser graded,diamond-tex added and laser graded.
- Junior Field was stripped, laser graded, diamond-tex added and laser graded.
- Clark Field was fixed after a local Delaware company caused damage to the field while trying to fix it causing it to need to be redone correctly. It was stripped, laser graded, new sod and sand dirt mix to help with water issue, diamond-tex added and laser graded. This was just not contained to the infield as we stripped graded and placed new sod 20 feet into the outfield to assist with the water problem.
- New gate at Gallagher complex to help with the ATV trespassing problem.
- Diamond-tex and Stone Dust storage bins these help keep the playing surfaces from being contaminated.
- Added a tractor to the Clark Complex to assist with maintenance.
- Overhaul of the Clark dugouts due to a water drainage problem, Concrete, new roof and siding.
